“Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.” Matthew 24:34
This is another promise, told by Jesus, that the Nation of Israel will never be wiped out until Christ’s second coming when he rids the world of all evil. The passage of Matthew 24 is Jesus speaking, giving the Olivet Discourse, which is the orderly and extended teaching of the end times. This discourse was prompted by the disciples commenting to Jesus to look at the magnificent buildings of and around the temple. At that, Jesus said to them that all these buildings will be destroyed, that “not one stone will be left upon the other.” Jesus continues on explaining how the end times will be. He later then says in Matthew 24:34, “Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.” In the Bible the word “generation” can mean a people group or nation. In this passage Jesus is speaking specifically to the disciples who are all Jews. Thus, in this passage “generation” means the Jewish nation; so in other words the Jews will be here till the end of time; nobody, no nation, no person, no ruler, no terrorist group, not one person, nation, or group of people will ever be able to wipe the Jews from the earth. This was Jesus’ very own words. Therefore, anyone or any group of people who try to rid the earth of Jews has already lost that battle.
In the passage above when Jesus says, “this generation (Jewish nation) will by no means pass away till all these things take place”, “all these things” is referring to all that He just spoke about in the previous verses, speaking about the end times, or otherwise known as the 7 year tribulation. As one can see then, from studying this scripture, God has a purpose and plan for the Jews to the very end of time.
He who has an ear, let him hear. “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord…” 2 Peter 1″2
