The way, the truth, and the life

John 14:1-6:

These verses may be the strongest verses proving Jesus is who He says He is, spoken by Jesus.  The most powerful and important words in the gospels- He is the way, the truth, and the life, and He explains to us plainly that no one can come to the Father except only through Him (Jesus). Many people believe there are many ways to God; as a matter of fact all religions except Christianity believe there is more than one way to God, the Father. But Jesus is clear on this truth, that He is the only way to God, meaning the only way to know God, the Father, and to live in eternity with Him. We must be careful not to add anything to scripture, which God warns us about- not to add to or subtract anything from God’s Holy Word. Deuteronomy 12:32, “Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.” Also Revelation 22:18-19 says, “If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the book of life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” As believers we need to be diligent to know God’s Word; without it we will be easily deceived. His Word is the best defense against the attacks of the devil. Know God’s Word so that you are not easily deceived. Remember, it is Jesus Himself that tells us in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

There you have it, friends. The way, the only way, to know God. It’s not an easy journey. Jesus tells us it will be difficult. But He also promises that our eternal reward will be worth it. Far greater than we can imagine.

He who has an ear, let him hear. “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord…” 2 Peter 1:2
